While watching the RP it made a buzzing sound and the screen went blank. Something appears to have burned out. I have taken the rear cover off and cannot see anything obvious. Can someone give me some direction on which part it could be.
Thanks namaj

i have SAMSUNG led tv with NO picture and there is back light and sound OK, ... Apparently the TV was on ...
If this is an LCD TV, show a flash light (torch light) on the screen from a safe distance. If you can see the picture, the backlight has gone off and might need of a qualified service technician.
The tv power supply board it is shorted and dead.That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shojimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.
we had a similar problem on our 40 inch samsung , the screen went black but we could still hear sound on ours it turned out to be the main board not the inverter like some people liked to think thanks
I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.
Good Day;
On that model look for a small yellow cap, half the size of coin, dime. LOOK very closely and you will see a small burnt spot on the cap. The TV uses about 4 of them, they are 120/110 @ 2 kv. There are located in the high voltage circuit.
This the most common, it could be flyback or HV devider.
Good Luck and Day, big irish.
LET ME know.
