Dlink dmp-100 I cannot get my dmp-100 to work with XP SP2. Although you can find drivers that claims to work with XP. But I dont think they do. It also looks like dmp-100 still is for sale, judging from some "problems". I thought they stopped manufacturing them several years ago and support from dlink is not available.

I am not able to get BAFO BF810 to get working on Windows XP SP3 - dont they have drivers for SP3? It works on SP2 though.

here is a linkt to the BAFO support site the drivers listed for your USB serial adapter the driver is listed for XP, Vista and Windows 7. As SP3 came out before Windows 7 I think the driver will be compatible with XP SP3

here is the link to the driver download

I have a 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g adapter which came with my compaq presario. My wireless network worked with WEP but won't with this computer using WPA2. I think I need to update the driver. Which one...

I do not believe that updating the driver for your network card will solve the problem, although you should always install the newest one for best operation. You can go to Compaq's support page here and see if there is an update available for your model.

If WEP worked for you and WPA doesn't, then it is an encryption problem. Encryption happens on a different layer than the driver, which simply makes your Operating System work with your hardware.

If you are running Windows XP SP1 or SP2, update the operating system to XP Service Pack 3 for best WPA/WPA2 support.

XP Service Pack 1 computers do not support WPA by default and cannot support WPA2. To upgrade an XP SP1 computer to support WPA (but not WPA2), either
  • install the "Windows XP Support Patch for Wi-Fi Protected Access" (link) from Microsoft, or
  • upgrade the computer to XP SP2
XP Service Pack 2 computers by default support WPA but not WPA2. To upgrade an XP SP2 computer to also support WPA2, install the "Wireless Client Update for Windows XP SP2" (link) from Microsoft.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Hi Just installed a new Biostar MCP6P-M2 motherboard and cant the sound to work for the life of me.

I think you installed windows xp sp3, try re installing with windows xp sp2 because microsoft removed support for high definition audio in sp3 version of xp, if you dont want to re-install or you want to use sp3, download the high definition audio update (kb835221.exe).

C2881 wont boot after sp2 installed

Generally when an SP2 installation doesn't take it means that there was some corruption of the SP1 installation. Usually virus related.

Although it is possible, I doubt very highly that replacing hardware will fix this problem. This is a software related issue and should be repaired as such.

You'll need to boot to the XP recovery console and then perform an uninstallation of SP2. Then you'll need to disinfect the SP1 installation (check for winlogon infections!)

Please, do not attempt to physically replace the BIOS ROM. You'll probably brick your motherboard.

If this doesn't solve your errors or you need more information please post back with what BSoD you're getting when the computer starts. And if possible upload the .dmp file from C:\Windows\Minidump to a file hosting service.
