Unlock

The iPod is a portable music player made by Apple. As of early 2011, Apple sells four models: iPod shuffle, iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod touch. If your iPod experiences a problem such as not responding or freezing, you can reset it to see if that takes care of the problem. IPod Shuffle The iPod shuffle is the smallest iPod model, with 2GB of storage.
It has no screen and attaches to your clothing with a clip, making it well suited for exercising while listening to music.
When it doesn't respond, or if the status light is solid red, you can reset it.
Slide the three-way switch left toward the word "Off," covering the green bar. Wait 10 seconds, and then slide the switch back to reveal the green bar to turn it back on.
IPod Classic
The iPod classic has a 160GB hard drive for storing music, videos and pictures.
If it experiences a problem, you can easily reset it.
Slide the "Hold" switch to the "Hold" position and then slide it back.
Press "Menu" and the center button simultaneously on the click wheel and hold them for about six seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.
IPod Nano
Apple's iPod nano has a touch-screen display and comes with 8GB or 16GB of storage, depending on the configuration.
It has a pedometer and an FM radio.
If the iPod nano doesn't respond, reset it.
Press the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Volume Down" button simultaneously and hold them until the screen gets dark, and then wait a few more seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, followed by the home screen.
IPod Touch
The iPod touch has a touch-screen display, two cameras for shooting pictures and movies, and Wi-Fi for accessing the Internet. Its capacity ranges from 8GB to 64GB, depending on the configuration.
You can use the iPod touch to send email and make video calls, as well as play games and run applications. If the iPod touch freezes or otherwise isn't working, you can get it running again after resetting it.
Press the "On/Off-Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.

Hi idiehl271...

To use any picture for your background you must have that picture installed in the Ipod.
To install a different picture as a background picture do the following:

1...Turn on Ipod
2...Touch "Settings"
3...Touch "Wallpaper"
4...Touch the arrow in the middle of the window, next to the current wallpaper
5...Select pictures from "Wallpaper",Photo Library, ect.

Ipod was dopped and now, ipod screen has lots of cracks through it.

The only way to fix this is either get a screen replacement, or see if Apple will replace the iPod.

When I turn on the ipod it says locked and disabled and connect to itunes! what do I do to unlock and reconnect??

Plug the iPod touch into the computer with the USB Dock connector. Once it is connected to the computer turn off the iPod touch by holding the power button down on the top of the device until you see the "Slide to Power Off" on the screen. Power Off the Device. Once the device is off (and still plugged in) hold down the home button and keep holding it while pressing the power button to turn on the device. Continue holding the home button until you see the screen on the iPod Touch Say "Connect to iTunes" at which point you should launch iTunes on your PC/Mac if it has not already loaded.

My daughters ipod touch has a locked icon on th top in the middle of the screen and I can not slide the bar, what has happended & how do I fix it? This is a second hand 8gb ipod touch that was working...

I have had a similar problem that you listed before.
What your daughter's iPod is experiencing is a broken touch sensor on the screen. She must have either dropped it, or accidentally smacked it into something hard. This will cause the touch sensor to break.
There are only two options left to resolve the problem: 1. Go to the Apple Store and pay them a fee to fix the device.
2. If you are looking to buy a new iPod, give the Apple Store your old one and they will give you 10% off.

Apple Apps onto Main Screen

You will need to buy the new iPod Touch update to put web apps. on the homepage by using the web clip feature. It should be $20 / £16 I think.

Hope this helps.
