The ice and water in my refrigerator are absolutely GROSS. I would like to change the water filter on my refrigerator but I can't find it on the refrigerator. When I type this model number in I get 0 results. My husband went to Sears and bought a universal filter to replace the one on it. Could you tell me where it is located on the refrigerator and how to replace the filter? Thanks, ljreaney

Check ice and water filter: If equipped, the Ice and Water filter in your refrigerator is responsible for removing any debris or contaminants from your water that may still remain after local water treatment. Most filters contain and are made up of carbon and fabric filter. Over time, the filter may become restricted and reduce the water flow to the ice maker, causing a symptom of little or no ice. Most manufacturers recommend replacing the filter every 6 months but local water conditions may require that you replace more frequently. Lastly a clogged drain line can cause a foul smell and get into the ice and water as we,,.
From what you have described your Frigidaire refrigerator is not producing ice or water. You have stated that the filter has been changed and valve has been opened, you still do not have water. This could be a potential problem with the water valve or water line. I would recommend performing a manual defrost, it is possible that the line has been frozen, within your refrigerator. In order to defrost it you would need to disconnect power from the refrigerator for four to six hours. I hope this information has been helpful. -Matt
I see that your Frigidaire refrigerator is making noises and no longer producing ice. Have you attempted to replace your water filter? If your filter is bad that could cause ice to stop producing. I would recommend changing your water filter to see if that would help correct your issue. The noise could be a normal operating noise. If you have your manual you can look inside for normal operating noises. If you need your manual could you please provide me with your model number? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your refrigerator. With that information I can further assist you. -Matt
For our Frigidaire refrigerators the water filter does in fact filter the ice maker too. The water enters your refrigerator from the water valve and then goes into your filter. It is then distributed between your ice maker and water tank. Hope this information has been helpful. -Matt

If you have not done so, please try changing it. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me your model number. Hope this is helpful.
I understand your Frigidaire refrigerator is not making ice and not dispensing water. I suggest starting by changing the water filter in your refrigerator. You should be changing the water filter about every 6-8 months. If this does not work, I also suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try getting water out of the dispenser. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Are you getting any water.
If you push the tab for water any you hear a buzzing or humming sound with no water then it could be you water pump which is located at the back of the fridge.
Just follow the water line and you will find it .
It's a small pump
R134a is the refrigerant that is pumped through the compressor. The water filter is for the water dispenser and the ice maker, it has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with the refrigerant. If you have a water filter on your model, and its possible you dont, it will be located inside the fresh food section at the top.
