Hey I have a hp pavilion slimline s3020n and it wont power up my green light stays on when I plug it in but when I push the power..nothing I checked the power button by removing the bezel and pressing the button by hand and nothing I haven't had it on in about a month. Before that I had to unplug everything but the powercord and vga to have it come on anything else plugged in it would not come on..I need help please thank u. Eddie

They are usually in a plastic caady which has a latch on it find the latch and release the caddy hope this helps

that must be on 1

SOURCE: Hp Pavilion a1120n will not power up.

Yes it needs a power supply. You can get a cheep one on eaby or get one off of the HP site

Check the video cable connectors, remove the video connectors and reconnect them again.
Check the monitor input settings make sure the input is set to VGA and not to DVI.
Try a different monitor.

i,m sorry to suggest this...is the fuse in the plug o.k??,
if so open the side and look at the board and see if there is any lights on in the board..if not it could be your power supply...is there a power switch on the back ???

Does the computer turn ON? (do you hear beeps?, do you see lights on the computer NOT THE MONITOR?, do you hear the fans?, etc...) it could be the monitor, try an other one, it could be the video card, swap it with a known good one ,it could be the VGA cable change it, etc... if the computer is all dead try an other electric outlet.

one thing you could try is take out the mains power from the back, then take out the bios battery on the motherboard for about 5 mins. this should reset your bios then put them back in and restart your computer. see how you go with that.

usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.

Unplug the AC power, remove the battery, wait a full minute and then reinstall AC and battery. See, if you now power up. Most power up problems are related to AC power, DC input jack, motherboard, memory or processor.
