2545 is a piston compessor if so you've got a busted rod on one of your cylinders , this will fail catastrofic and break out side of compessor but if caught early can still be rebuilt with a few new parts

Toyota ipsum 2001

The air compressor is on that drive belt if you are getting a bad noise when the air is turned on you probaly need to replace the unit. You can try adding air compessor oil to the system and it may help.

When the tank is empyt the compessor comes on with no problem and runs until it's full, once pressure gets low the compessor should automaticly come on and refill, that"s when the compessor comes...

Hi mcfadden21...

Check and clean or repair or replace your compressor's unloader valve.
The unloader valve is suppose to discharge the compressed air from the tops of the piston heads to the outside to make it easy for the compressor to start when the pressure in the tank drops to the starting point.

ALWAYS USE LARGE GAUGE CORDS FOR COMPRESSORS. LOOK FOR RESET BUTTONS OR THERMAL OVERLOAD BUTTON ON MOTOR. DID IT TRIP BREAKER OR GFI OUTLET?

WON'T RESTART

The reset button used on Bostitch is the type that cuts out when motor is too hot to safely run. You must wait till system cools a bit before the reset button will reset. May be a good idea to solve overheating problem before replacing reset. It is always best to connect the compressor directly to the outlet instead of using an extension cord. If it is already connected directly to plug, insure that the outlet is capable of delivering amps needed for your compressor. When the compressor reaches rated pressure and shuts off there should be a small release of air from the pressure switch. This release of pressure allows the compessor to start in an unloaded state. If the compressor does not release the air in the hose the motor will not have the power to overcome the backpressure and cause the reset to open. There is a capacitor that could be at fault. The capacitor must be removed from the circuit to test. It should test within 95 percent of rated value. Generally, overheating is caused by low power. A failed capacitor is caused by low power. Good luck, enjoy.
