SOURCE: Hp 530 notebook cpu upgrade

It's not posible to upgrade to a dual core, the motherboard is a different design. Keep in mind that the processor, motherboard and memory have a matched frequency. If the processor doesn't match the board then it won't recognize it. Since the board does recognize the T2300, it may be that you need to match the memory in order to get it to boot. Match the memory by going to patriotmem.com and entering the model that the T2300 came from, it will tell you the memory frequency. If the memory matches the processor simply will not work with that board.

Recover the power on password on a hp 530

Your biggest problem on a lot of web sites is that we do not know if the laptop is stolen or not so giving anyone the means to remove such passwords is frowned upon.

When I plug in my HP 530 Green light comes on then turns to amber. Will not come on even when I remove battery and just plug in. [email protected]

The System / Motherboard has faulty Power Circuit. Contact HP and arrange a repair. If under warranty won't cost anything.

Hp 530 power on password solution please

HP website ... So long as you make sure you get to the exact correct product (which sometimes seem hard or not specific) I have the HP530 and fortunately I finally got it right. In the solutions section I recall seeing a .pdf file with an answer to the power on password solution. I didn't download it, since I don't have that problem. I have had great success with the .pdf solutions on the HP site directly.

Compaq presario r 30000 need to bypass power on password    password is not working . need to restore to factory setting

Power On The Power On password is set in the System BIOS options. It prevents unwanted users from accessing the computer. By default, HP does not set the Power On password. If you set the Power On password in the System BIOS options you will be prompted for it immediately after you power on the Notebook PC. If this password is forgotten, a repair at an HP certified repair center is required to reset the computer. Please contact HP to schedule a repair. This service is not covered by the warranty. Drive Lock The Drive Lock password protects the data on your hard drive through encryption. If your computer is stolen, the data on the hard drive is inaccessible without the Drive Lock password. This password cannot be reset. If it is lost or forgotten, the hard drive must be replaced. Please contact HP to order a new hard drive. This service is not covered by the warranty.

I forgot my password for my hp 530 laptop

You need to reset the BIOS, which is sorta like a manager for the computer. Some pretty basic settings may get trashed -- like whether it automatically comes back on after a power failure, hard-coded power management things, that sort of stuff -- but it should be fine.

Directions are available on Page 30 of this document:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01039180/c01039180.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

See that part where it tells you to look on Page 54 for removing a Real Time Clock battery? There is a -lot- of disassembly involved in this. Read through all the relevant instructions. You'll probably want to print pages 30 to 55 of the PDF for everything you need to take apart ... which is just about everything between pages 30 and 55. If you're not comfortable doing that, you may wish to hire someone -- it may be cheaper to find a local guy than a mail order company, which seem to prey on panicky business people and charge exorbitant rates. Shop around and get quotes.

BIOS password for HP Notebook 530 laptop

Check with HP if they have what is called a TPM - trusted platform module. This is a chip that is coming by default on Sony's and a few others. If by chance this is what he applied a password to, Sony will tell you that you have just purchased a very expensive paper weight. The chip must be replaced. This is a last resort of course.
There are many sites that offer "Back Door" passwords which are default for the manufacturers while in production. But sometimes you can get lucky & get one on line.
Another way is to remove the cmos battery for 1/2 at least. This should reset the bios, which then if works go straight to the bios and create a new bios password or none at all.
Some people I know have gotten their pc's to boot with boot software. This is worth checking into. Just remember, it's all about security now with identy theft ect..... So it may not be easy or at worst --- possible.
Goood Luck.
