My laptop worked fine till yesterday. After checking the mails I closed the PC with out shutdown and keeping the charging ON.
After few hours I tried switch it on again.
it's not switching ON and also not charging.
The light indicator on AC adaptor fin (in Green), but no charging indicators on laptop and not switching ON.
Please advice me ....
There is a common problem with laptops that the power jack comes loose from the main board. However this Vaio has a flying lead connector which makes it less likely. The laptop will need to be disassembled to check and I cant find a service manual on the internet. Can you log in to Sony's e-support and ask for one? I'll get back later if I can find one.

Your battery is still alive, the problem is in the laptop, it may have a blown resistor or charging ic. I can bypass these parts tru jumpering if ever these parts are not available in the electronics store. Now, take the laptop in the computer repair shop nearest you for this is a hardware related problem.
The first time you charge the battery allow 12 to 16 hours, after that 2 to 4 hours or when battery is charged. If you go on battery frequently drain it right down before charging it, this will give the maxi-um performance and longevity.
u try one thing just shutdown laptop remove battery and charger from laptop then after push power button for 1 minute after that install battery and charger. but not start laptop and check that charging led of laptop is running if it's runnig then put in same condition for 3 to 4 hours after that start laptop using battery only after proper booting when os load attech the charger and check charging status.
As per the description it seems the problem with adapter. Try using another adapter and keep the laptop for charging for few hours and check the battery. If this doesnt solve the issue please mail back.
I would check to make sure the AC adaptor connection on the motherboard was not damaged when you opened the pc. ( I have done that a few times.) I'm uncertain of what you have done to solve the problem. Since you have the new battery, again try to charge the battery. when it show the charge is complete, let the pc run until it goes off, when it does, keep powering your pc on until it will no longer power on. (You want to make sure the battery is completely drainned.) Once complete, try plugging the AC to your pc and monitor the charge. You may need to let the pc charge for at least 2 hours before powering the pc on.
If you had the adapter checked out, then it has to be the power input to the motherboard (where you plug the adapter in). I have one of these laptop's as well, but my problem is that the battery is completely drained and won't change. Never the less, you might be able to find a replacement motherboard from ebay for fairly cheap.
