Hi everyone, I just inherited a Fuji S5000 in great condition and love it apart from one thing...I can't get the flash button to work. I've followed the instruction manual, selected AUTO but the button just won't select any flash setting. I know the button itself is working because I can use it to navigate through the setup menu but in normal photography mode it doesn't do a thing. Any advice would be welcome, many thanks.
You cannot set anything on auto mode! The camera sets itself automatically. try taking shot(AutoMode)in dimlit area or no light at all. If it's taking shots and flash isn't firing, your flash bulb is already busted! I suggest you buy a separate flash unit (they cost the same as replacing parts and service fee), a cheap one is comparable or works the same as the costly one, if you know how to set up on manual mode ( they call it compose or advance or creative mode!)
