Monitor won't turn on

It doesnt sound like a windows problem. A simple test for this is to unplug the vga or hdmi cable from the monitor then turn it on if it has power it should say no signal. Also try either another power cable to the monitor or change the fuse. Hope this helps.

Shut pc down unplug power supply press and hold power button for 20 seconds to remove all remaning power.open case clean any dust find ram sticks remove them make sure there clean and re seat them back into there slots.your monitor could be the cause also unhook it while pc is unplugged. now put it all back together and turn it on..if it doesnt shut it down un hook monitor and fire up pc see if the pc boots by watching the lights.if so bad monitor does light turn blue on monitor when power on.

try powering off your monitor and disconnect the cable at both ends. switch the ends if that doesn't work try another cable.then turn the monitor back on see if the osd menu went away.

try to do a syestem restore on it. click on start go to programs. then accessories system tools and at last system restore. and go back to the last time it worked ok.

This is probably a back light problem. Take a bright flashlight and while the monitor is on, point it at the LCD and try different angles, etc. If you can see an image, it is the back light, probably the back light voltage converter unit in the lcd. It could also be the back light bulbs.

If you don't see an image with the flash light, then it could be the main logic board.

I just had this problem at work and what I did was I powered up the computer and went into the menu. I went to the 2nd to last button and selected the reset. It's working perfectly now. I do not know if it will last but it's easy and free.

internal board on the lcd has blown capacitors you will need to replace those on the power board to bring the monitor back up.
