Looking to buy e-620 or e-30. I was wondering if sigma 50-500 tele lens comes with mount for olympus & where to buy olympus in India Are you sure that Olympus body supports HSM? Otherwise the autofocus would not be working. I just can't find the information on HSM vs. Olympus anywhere :-(

I have sony DSLR A330 camera. I also have a Sigma 28-200 mm lens sitting in a box that has never been open and just wondering if it will fit onto my sony camera. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sigma makes their lenses with a variety of lens mounts. If your lens has a Sony mount then yes, it will fit your a330. If has, say, a Canon mount, then no, it will not fit.

Sigma 2x tele converter is loose

I had an issue with my Sigma 1.4X TC where it became loose after several years of use. I fixed min as follows:

On the camera-mount side (where TC attaches to camera) I removed the tiny four screws. Then I very carefully lifted up the metal mount being careful not to damage the ribon cable which is attached to it. I DID NOT complete remove it, I just tilted it up so as not to damage the cable. I then tightened the 3 screws that I found below that as all three were loose. I think that there may be four screws, but I could only see 3 of them without removing the plate further. after tightening the screws and replacing the metal plate and the four screws holding it, the mount was again tight and the attached lens functioned normally.

Is it possible to convert a sigma lens to fit a canon body or by using an m42 adapter?

Sigma makes their lenses with a variety of mounts. If the lens has a Canon or M42 mount then there is no problem. If it has a Minolta mount, for example, then replacing the lens will be easier and just as cheap as changing the mount. If it has Nikon mount, you can buy adapters to fit it to Canon or M42 bodies.

I have a Sigma 400mm APO HSM Tele macro lens that I am most pleased with. It takes amazingly sharp pics, even wide open, that I am forced to do because I cannot get a re-chip done. My problem is that...

Sorry, but it's not a DIY fix as the lens will need to be collimated. Without this, you'll just be guessing the correct position and alignment for the loose optical element and won't get your image quality back.

Professional repair and re-collimation will not be cheap though and the lens may not fully recover its former sharpness, so it may be time to let your faithful friend go.

I hope my answer has assisted you in choosing a course of action; please take a moment to rate my reply.

Will the olympus sigma 80-200 lens fit on the E-620 camera?

If it's a Four-Thirds mount lens then yes, no problem.

But otherwise if it's for the 35mm OM mount then not without an OM to Four-Thirds adapter. They're cheap and widely available directly from Chinese suppliers on eBay and they do exactly the same thing as the ridiculously expensive OM original item. You will need to manually focus with the aperture wide open and then remember to stop down to the desired aperture before shooting.

As long as you check suppliers' feedback first, then you should be OK; I've bought from such suppliers for years and have had fewer problems than buying products in my own country. I've used a variety of suppliers but most often return to Phoebe-G and receive my items in about a week to ten days, but goods have occasionally taken as few as three days to arrive in London.

Blurry pictuers

First of all, tele-multipliers or tele-converters do not have the greatest optics in the world, and are usually fine for close up images but not much else. Secondly, they do restrict the amount of light coming into the camera which could interfere with the internal metering. Third, you have additional lens surfaces to get dirty. To fix the problem, start with the easy one, and clean all lens surfaces meticulously with a soft lint free cloth. If that doesn't fix it, try shooting non-moving objects in brightly lit areas. If you are still getting blurry pictures, try using the tele-converter on a close-up image within the focal length of the lens combination. If that doesn't work, give the teleconverter to someone you don't like and go buy a good quality 50-135mm zoom lens. Vivitar, Sigma, or other similar lenses are good quality and are very reasonably priced.

E-330 choice of lenses

Hi Fredher,

Your wife has many lens choices for her camera.
Her camera is called the Four Third Camera.
You can use lenses made by Leica, Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma.
Also, can use older OM lenses for the Four Third, but you will need an adapter for it. Adapter can be purchased from Olympus.

Leica, Olympus and Panasonic make Four Third Cameras and lenses.

Sigma makes lenses for Four Third, too. .
You just have to tell them that you have a Four Third camera.

Try to sell that 40-150 lenses. Then buy the 50-200/2.8-3.5 SWD. If you got the money, buy the 90-250/2.8 from Olympus.
This will give you the reach for sports without getting run over.

50-200 is equal to 100-400mm
90-250 is equal to 180-500mm.

Just to get a 500mm/F2.8 on a 35mm camera will hit you over $12,000.00 USD.

If cost is a factor, then buy the Sigma APO 70-200/2.8 II EX DG Marco HSM.

70-200 = 140 to 400mm

To get a 400/2.8 will cost you $9,000.00 on a 35mm camera.

All lenses above all made for the working pros.

Hope they are helpful.
