Hi.
You need to press SUBTOTAL before you type the amount received. Are you doing this?

Ok. It is usually caused by incorrect programming during department changes.

    try this for a start:

    turn key to Program mode.

    0
    CASH
    SUBTOTAL
    3
    SUBTOTAL
    0
    CASH
    SUBTOTAL

That is unusual. Most Casios will let you remove presets on the CASH button. make sure you have finished in REG mode before turning the key, as that can cause it (try a no sale operation before turning the key). Otherwise, just turn to prog and do the second part (starting with 3 SUBTOTAL)

Sweet. You had accidentally changed the flag settings of the CASH button to stop displaying change.

Make sure you subtotal the sale and never use a decimal point when entering amounts

I have an error on the cash amount tendered button. It automatically takes 71 cents of the amount when i press the button.

You have programmed the Cash key in P1 mode to 71 cents. To reverse this turn key to program enter a clerk if needed and put 00000000 hit Cash key then Subtotal turn key back reg.

2 things how do you disable clerk sign on and how do you program a cash/amount tender key it wont give the amount of change

You can't normally turn off the clerk system as it would facilitate terrible fraud. You are just supposed to sign on and start using it.
All cash registers should be able to calculate change. Press SUBTOTAL once you have entered the items. Now type the amount received from the customer (no decimal point). now press Cash (or other payment key) and the change should be displayed.

Programming help

Hi Leanne,
It depends which line it is on.
The codes for the lines are:
132 line 1
232 line 2
332 line 3
432 line 4

Turn the key to program mode

Type the line number (eg if VAT is on 3rd line down, type 332)

Press SUBTOTAL

Type the new details for that line using the programming layout in your book under the 'entering characters' section. You need to use the numbers at the left side, not the normal number pad. Eg 5/0 is above the clear key. To switch between the top and bottom numbers on the key, use CAPS or SHIFT. If you make a mistake while entering, the decimal point button will delete the last character.

Press 00 (the double zero button)

Press CASH

Press SUBTOTAL

Turn the key back to reg mode, and try printing a receipt. Note - you might have to print two receipts before you see the change.

Hope this helps. If you have any problems, just let me know.
