I would reset the Photo conductor unit. It will have a Green drum in it. I would make sure it is set in the machine all the way, and that the drum door opens completly. BLANK copies are and indication the paper has NOT touched the drum to recieve an image.

Well reset and remove and reinstall are the same thing. Is there a small door covering the green drum?

  • Anonymous Apr 04, 2009

Ensure that the door opens as you close the covers of the machine.

Ensure (without touching the drum) that the door covering the drum moves freely and opens completely, as the door gears can slip, causeing the door to bind or not completely open hence an image cannot get transfered to the paper.

Error 002 with Canon image class MF 8180 C

I usually open the back cover, top cover, cartridge cover and pull out the paper tray. Sometimes this clears the alarm, if this does not clear the alarm, I unplug the printer for a couple minutes. Between opening and closing the covers and unpluging the printer, the alarm goes away. Ray
