Not responding my son shutdown my system while charging my sandisk and now the system says theres a malfunction and when you try to turn it off it does not respond

    I have the same problem--but I tried holding down the power button, and nothing happened!

Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to "reset" the device. That always works. ;0)

There's a slide switch at the top of the unit, near the headphone jack. Slide the switch away from the jack to unlock the unit.

It sounds like the power supply might be damaged.
Return it to Sony. If it is still under warranty, the repair will be free; otherwise, Sony will charge a flat $150 fee.

"Battery Is Too Low System Shutdown"

The battery has come loose from the contacts on the inside.

Remove the back (4 screws), remove the battery and put it back in securely.

Then charge it for a couple hours.

The battery has come disconnected from the charging contacts in the back.

Remove the 4 screws, remove the battery from the back and re-insert it.

Cant charge

maybe the battery is dead try replacing the battery of the player.
