Your machine does use the Realtek audio codecs. Try to download the version available on their website. You have two choices - a standard AC97 or the AC97 HD (you may want to try this one first) one of them should be compatible with your equipment.

NOTE: The drivers available from Realtek have a different version number with them but they are basically the generic drivers for AC97 devices.

I have an Acer Aspire 6930 and my husbands friend said he could fix it and now I windows xp and not vista how can I restore my computer to factory default settings?

You require either a rescue disk, made by that machine or a new Vista OS disc.
Running XP will not work as there are no specific drivers for the mother board because XP doesn't support a machine that is so new comparatively speaking.

Hey i put windows 7 on my acer aspire 6930, i have the driver from vista but it doesnt work on win 7. is there drivers that works? i need help and also i have experianced sound trouble too it's not that...

You may want to try the vista driver. some forums suggest that the vista drivers work with windows 7. You have to rememebre that windows 7 is still beta and there may not be proper drivers for it yet

I have an acer one but the sound is not working properly

Check your settings:
On XP:

Go to Control Panel, select Sounds and Audio Devices
Double-click on it and select "Hardware" tab
Select the sound device and click "properties" button
Select "Driver" tab and update driver.

On Vista:

Go to Control Panel >click Hardware and Sound
Select "Sound" > click "manage audio device"
Highlight your sound driver then right click to Properties
Under the Controller information click Properties button
Select "Drivers" tab
Select "Update driver"
