I just changed from Vista to XP.
Sound was great in Vista.
But now I am not able to hear any sound.
control Panel-->sound and audio devices open the sound related dialog where everything is dim.
tries installing the Audio_Realtek_v6.0.1.5704 ,but no use.
also PCI device in device manager is yellow.
Acer only support vista for this notebook no XP drivers are availble with Acer
But i am giving u direct downalod link from REALTEK website try these drivers they are working for XP 100% Pls rate me FIXYA for help pls try both pages bcoz i dont know which one works for ur notebook but one will work i am sure

Your machine does use the Realtek audio codecs. Try to download the version available on their website. You have two choices - a standard AC97 or the AC97 HD (you may want to try this one first) one of them should be compatible with your equipment.
NOTE: The drivers available from Realtek have a different version number with them but they are basically the generic drivers for AC97 devices.
