Hotsync disconnects my LD

I was able to hotsync my LD once with my PC. the next time i tried it, i couldn't connect with my PC anymore. the lifedrive manager window would be on and indicate the space i have available on the lower right corner. when i press the hotsync button on the cable attached to the base of the LD, the lower right corner changes to a message; "palmOne device is not connected". then i get a similar message on the LD saying i'm unable to hotsync. when i tap "ok", the lifedrive manager reconnects on its own telling me whats in my device and space available. same thing happens when i tap the hotsync button in my LD

I've had this problem getting these set up in the past for customers.

What you want to do is go to your device manager and sync the palm while the window is open.

Look for a yellow triangle with an ! in the middle of it down towards the bottom by USB controllers.

If it pops up, double click on it and go to the drivers and try to reinstall your driver.

Just go to the plamone website and download and install the dektop software for the LD. That will let you hotsync and upload to the LD

Antivirus necessary ?

I do not believe there is a need for anti-virus. I am sure a poster much wiser than I can give you the reasons for this, but the end answer is a simple no.

LD and Navman SmartST with Bluetooth ?

You might need to install the NavMan T5 update (not the Palm T5 update!) before it'll work on your LifeDrive. Dunno, but try it without first.

Wikipedia with lifedrive?

tr3 files are desktop PC files, they must be converted to .pdb files by the TomeRaider desktop program. Changing the file extention does not convert the data to Palm format, it is still PC data.

Lost almost all Tasks when hotsyncing LifeDrive

sounds to me like your To Do (Tasks) database became corrupted somehow. Unless you have a PC backup or have XP's rollback feature turned on, I think your data may be gone.

Lost all contacts, memos, tasks, after LifeDrive Update 1.0

This morning I downloaded LifeDrive Update 1.0, and when I did a HotSync afterwards, I got an error message saying, Handheld Tasks application database version not supported. Handheld Notes application database version not supported. Now my contacts, memos, tasks, calendar entries and possibly other items are all gone!! This is the core data that is the reason why I use a PDA! I would be totally distraught, except that the data does still seem to exist in Outlook on my PC. I am running Outlook 2002, SP3 on a WinXP machine. Can anyone help to fix this problem? thanks,

How do you get the Lifedrive to hotsync with MS Outlook 2003?

Check the USB and hotsync logs when you next try this. It will show what it did or couldn't do. That should give you an idea why the conduit isn;t talking to outlook. It may be a security setting in windows or outlook or the conduit needs to be setup.

Nothing major just annoying.
