The screen is split in two horizontally and very slow to change with blurred images. The volume is fine.
This is actually a replacement tv for another Sylvania that did the exact same thing. The first one was under warranty and we were able to return it, but our troubles with this one started after the warranty expired. It is only six months old.
We don't know anything about tv repair. Our local shop will charge us $50 just to look at it. Is this a very expensive throwaway or should we go ahead and try to get it repaired?

Probably the t con broad is faulty. t con board id the on which drives the LDC panel. I some tvs its not possible to replace the T con board as it would be integrated to the LCD panel normally in 32 inches and bellow. In others i would be separate board which is replaceable individually. I have added a video to know how to locate a t con board which is replaceable individuality. As you didn't mentioned the model number its not possible to add the exact image. In all most all the tvs T con Board (individuality replaceable one ) will be placed on the top center of the tv cover with a metal shield. If its incinerated to the LCD panel then inside the LCD protection metal chassis. Check and fin which one you have.
When he hit the screen, he most likely broke through the protective glass screen and broke the lcd screen that displays your picture. It's probably better for you to just replace the tv itself, it'll be more costly to repair the tv than to replace it.
By split screen you mean that only half works or is a different color the problem is not the main board but a problem with the lcd itself. It is called cof or chip on film , it is a problem that cannot be fixed.
My new TV LCD Samsung LC32C530 Series 5 has one half darker and with less contrast than the other. This is noticeable now always. There is a distinct and clear division down exactly half the display which separates the dark and light sides.. Any ideas?Thank you.
you probably will need to reload the firmware check with maker for any upgraded firmware just as a computer has a cmos program that can have problems so does a tv or Lcd monitor with a tuner card and speakers reload the newest firmware . the resolution scaler is overlaping unless the two images are different colors
I am sorry you are having a problem with your JVC camcorder. Your camera more than likely has a defective CCD imager which is being replaced by JVC factory service at no charge because of a problem with the Sony CCD chip being used. Call JVC and arrange to send the camera to them.
Hope this helps you!
