GE oven will not light. The display is working and the broiler works as well. When the oven is "on" I do not smell any gas though. I tried turning the oven on and lighting it with an ignitor, but nothing happened. Any suggestions.
I have the same problem. The owners manual suggested checking to make sure the gas switch under the oven is on. It is.
There was no mention of an ignition switch. Where is this?I have the same problem. The owners manual suggested checking to make sure the gas switch under the oven is on. It is.

The broiler works but the oven will not. Both ignitor elements seem to be seperate (one for oven and one for broiler). Could this be a simple 'fuse' issue? Same problem. Broiler, burners work. Oven sits at 100 degrees and no gas is heard. Igniter looks to be about $67. Is it consumer replaceable? Same problem. Broiler, burners work. Oven sits at 100 degrees and no gas is heard. Igniter looks to be about $67. Is it consumer replaceable?

As with others, broiler works fine, stove top burners work fine, but oven will not light. As with others, broiler works fine, stove top burners work fine, but oven will not light.

Hi The gas valve will not open until the ignitor pulls enough amps around 3.2 . so from the infromation you wroke you may need a new ignitor..let me know what you can find out..

I have a spectra gas range and the broiler works but the oven doesn't. When I turn the oven on the middle light blinks but oven won't light, what's wrong? Model#348A8035P017
The gas supply valve to the oven/broiler is the likely culprit. It is a separate valve from the stovetop. I've had the same problems and had to replace mine twice now. They are very expensive, (about 100 dollars) considering the cost of the whole stove. It is located
inside the broiler drawer on the very back wall.
I'm not an expert, and I'm reading you're post while looking for a solution for our oven, so this is in no way should be taken as a suggested solution, it isn't!!!....here it is anyway: I think it might be a bad ignitor, I have replaced a couple on our stove and both times we had exactly the same symptoms you're experiencing, I think also we're in line for a third ignitor for this "less then 10 year old Magic Chef".
Good luck
