No longer recognizes the ink - Epson Stylus CX5000 InkJet Photo Printer

The Epson printer won't recognize ink cartridge when you have dried or empty ink, outdated printer drivers, ink cartridge not installed properly and more. Follow the troubleshooting steps to fix Epson printer not recognize ink cartridge:

My printer just died. The first indication of a problem was ink cartridges not being recognized. I replaced 3 in one night. The next time I went to print the entire unit just lost power and will no longer power on. From what I've been reading a bad print head can fry the logic board. At that point the only solution is to replace the board. For a 5+ year old machine and a logic board that will cost ~$100, it doesn't seem worth repairing.

An ink tank which has once been empty is
installed. Replace the applicable ink tank with
a new one.
Printing with a once-empty or refilled ink
tank can damage the print head.
If printing is continued without replacing the
refilled ink tank, press the Stop/Reset button
for 5 sec. or longer to record the use of a
refilled ink tank.

ink light on? Check status monitor. Usually after jammed paper, printer trouble to recognized ink. Do change ink tank procedure, unplug and plug again ink tank.

try to unplug your printer while it is in ON state ...it reset all your settings and after that it can recognizes your full cartridges..

one of the hints about the SSC tool on your site, and the Epson manual. These printers are basically designed to be a pain in the *** when they run/dry out of ink... PERIOD. I will get another brand as soon as I am able.

its always said never refill ink cartiges ... it may some times damage the print heads ...
and always use a genuine one

Try to open and close the main cover a bit, ... ink recognition will start and may solve the probleme ...
... otherwise remove the cartridge and clean the chip contacts e.g. with spirit
Maybe also pressing the stop/reset-button for >10s will also help to continue printing, but in this case the fill level of the cartridge will no longer be shown

throw away Lexmark prn. buy other brand.

You need to wait longer for the printer to recognize the ink cartridge, but first clear all cartridge error messages on the printer.
