Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

2 Answers

White screen I dropped my phone and it got a little water damage and didn't work at all(white screen), but now it works outside, but it gets no service inside(white screen). Whenever I put my hand over the small hole near the keypad the screen goes white.The screen goes white in the house and even outside under a tree, but if I am standing in the driveway it works fine.Ca this be fixed? or could it still need to dry out more? Any suggestions? Thanks

I fixed my V3m. (1) Reseat the two connectors. (2) Restore connectivity by putting pressure on them by bending the metel tabs. I believe that the second step is as important as the first because the fix did not work by just performing the first.

I had this problem too. My razrs screen would just go white every 15 minutes maybe, and i would have to turn it off and back on.There was a white line at the bottom of the screen also, so i went to http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSummary.asp?country=&language=&web_page_name=SUPPORT&strCarrierId=US%20Cellular&strPhone=V3c&strCable=Mini%20USB%20Data%20Cable and downloaded thee software update. after it was finished the white line went away the screen never went white and it fixed everything

White screen

did you drop it in water, ?did you press the screen to hard and cracked the lcd panel? those are the most common reasons, oh, and dropping it, and also dropping it in water. I would suggest going over all those possibilities.. open up the back of your phone and pull out the battery, in all phones now they have a water sensor dot, it remains white always unless the phone was damaged by water, and warranty doesnt cover water damage, look for that little white dot, if its red, that means you gotta get a new phone, and if you try peeling if off theyll know youre covering up water damage, unless you were able to somehow obtain another white color changing dot to put back in your phone now in the exact place it should be, but techs are very good at catching bluffs. but if that white is intact to begin with, your phone should be under warrenty of some sort, and that means they owe you a new one. bottom line. BOOM

Screen went solid white cant get it to do anything inside, outside works ok

If you haven't tried to power it off and on then do that. If you haven't removed the battery and checked for water damage that is what you do next. If there is no water damage, replace battery and try to power the phone up. If you still have a white screen, you may have a manufacture defect. Take it to the store or call tech support on another phone otherwise they won't be able to troubleshoot with you if you are using the phone with the problem.

My env2 was dropped. the outside screen works but

it's a good time to go get a new phone. that much damage would cost more in repair that it would to either replace or upgrade to a new phone.

Blackberry Pearl in water

The screen has been damaged internally. You also might have risked frying out the hardware with turning it on with the moisture still inside the phone. It also sounds like some of the moisture may still be stuck inside the phone which could cause the screen to have problems.

If you would like to try, you can take apart the phone to try and remove moisture that way. This guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQxMmsrnwfU will help you out in doing so. Also understand by taking apart the phone it voids any warranty. Yet since you dropped the Pearl in the water, its already out of warranty since the little water sensitive strips (inside and outside) the phone have been turned red which destroys the warranty.

Your best option is to just get the phone replaced because a phone never works the same after water damage.

Hope this helps;
