Question about IBM ThinkVision L170 17" LCD Monitor
Please take a look at the picture in this URL http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300139559555 The monitor on the right is displaying the symptom that I am looking for opinions on. This has got to be a fairly common issue with these IBM LCDs, as I have 3 of them that are doing it. They will flicker the images for a while and then they might straighten up and work correctly for a while, but they always go back to doing it eventually. Might stay flickering for days, might work for days. One just never straightened back up. I suspect a solder joint issue, or failed/failing component. Any tips on where to start looking on this model? Thanks James
The Thinkvision series has a known issue with capacitors on the power board.
It is an easy repair, though if your not confident with electronics then get your local TV man to have a look.
Your eBay link isn't working by the way.
Hope that helps.
