The light in my refrigerator goes off when I open door

The alarm operates from the door switch which also turns light on. When refrigerator door is open for a set period the alarm sounds, fault is possibly either door switch or alarm panel. Can you operate door switch manually while door is open to see if light goes out? If light stays on then you have a faulty switch.

Try screw in the light bulb a little tighter.
Or the door switch may be defective.

bad switch. or the wire has come off the switch. You have an open circuit. this means electricity is not flowing all through the circuit. it could be a switch, a bulb or a fuse. Start with the easy stuff. find the switch and push it in an out. many new refrigerators will shut off the fan if the door is open. if the fan goes off check the light bulb.

Check the door switch by pushing it in with the door open if the light goes off then the switch is ok if not change the switch.Then check where it comes into contact with the door and make sure that it is being pushed in.

next time it does this unplug for 20 mins and pcb will reset its self....

Hi, try this  There s this knob that gets pushed when you close the door (the door puhses on it when it closes) and the light goes off
you can do it yourself, open the door and find the knob somewhere around the light or on top where the door closes and push it, the light should go off..

yor light switch must be bad or light socket

the light goes out??? are we talking about the interior lights, or dispensor lights???, and whats bl;inking (if any while "beeping") sounds as if perhaps a door/light switch has failed, and in which case the intereior light would stay on for more then 2 min(beeping "open door alarm", and after 2 min for safety reasons the lights turn off as not to "cook the food"

Door Alarm -

To set the alarm, press this pad until the indicator light comes on.
This alarm will sound if either door is open for more than 3 minutes.
The light goes out and the beeping stops when you close the door.
