My phone turned off on its own and now when i turn it back on it just blinks a white blank screen t it dies. never been wet or dropped (had rubber casing)... ???

If it starts up white, just flick the screen until it comes back. weird i know, but i think it's a faulty connection or something from LG...
Here's the thing, LG has made a big flaw in the design of this phone. These are the 2 most common problems 1. the display (which all of you already know). 2. The charging port.
Unfortunately there is no home remedy for these problems so you would have to take it back to where you bought it and hopefully get a replacement. If you can get another model (pay dif. in price) then do so. If you are infactuated with the design , then get the Chocolate II (vx-8550). But I recommend Samsung phones. I was a LG die hard fan until....

Common flaw with the slider mechanism rubbing the cable too much.
This will fix prettymuch all display problems not involving software problems.
I'm on my fourth, (yes, FOURTH) phone. Verizon is actually very good about just replacing the phone for free, since this problem is obviously a manufacturer defect. All I have to do is send back the body. No more though. My only suggestion is to use an older phone until you can upgrade. VX8500, while a nice phone to look at, is completely flawed and unreliable.

my 12-month warranty was up 36 days ago and today it gave me the WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH! Verizon store people said it would replace it for $50 bc my warranty was up. I didn't drop or wet it. Mine just started randomly doing the same blinking screen!! This is my second chocolate. I had to replace the first because the charge port came out of the phone! Worst phone ever!!
