HI there your screen is ok but sorry to say that the lens does not focus because the lens guide pin is damaged or dislocated. So replaced the guide pin or repaired it. After that your camera will work properly. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

The advisory hasn't expired for the S500. You might want to recontact that supplier who gave you the so-called "discount". Only contact Canon, and noone else, regarding this issue.

Hi there, it is very easy. im sure you already have the new LCD? well here goes: Firstly you have to remove the back cover and battery, then you take out the 2 covers that cover the screws at the bottom wher the battery fits into. loosen these (be careful not to let these screws go into the phone. Then you take out the 2 rubber covers on the top of the phone. loosen them and then with a blunt object split the front cover from the back. unclip the flex and camera, slide the new one in and repeat the above. make sure there are no dust under the lens before closing! woila!

I had the same problem.

Just fixed it.

Check the cable on the back of the monitor.
Make sure it is plugged in properly.

Wiggle it a bit, and the ghosting dissappears.

Don't tighten the cable to the PC too much.

YES THERE ARE SPECIAL TOOLS BUT YOU SHOULD TAKE THE PHONE TO A MOBILE CENTER AND HAVE IT FIX THERE.
