When my daughters Astra CD 2001 is switched on the radio volume goes to full volume, happens regularly after overnight switch off, and intermitent during the day, have eliminated battery problems, and preset volume settings, and is not loosing any other settings.
Does anyone know what the fix is or where I should take the head unit for repairs, I am based in Melb Victoria Australia
With me. I pressed the + volume button once from 13 to 14 and it went all the way to 30 ( highest volume) and wont go back down. it also wont let me go to the radio now
my barina has done similar things and i found that i had to turn the radio off and back on and i was fine. sounds like a simple answer but it was a quick fix. it only tends to happen every now and then when theres been a frost or something and i turn the car on when its still early in the morning.

I have an Astra 1999 with a cassette/radio (Blaupunkt 420) which also intermittently starts at 100% volume. It appears, though, to happen to my audio system after it has rained. I just emailed Blaupunkt, perhaps you could do the same and see what they say.
i've got an 02 barina and i've found that mine tends to do it after a frost!
