What sort of HT is it?

  • Anonymous Apr 10, 2009

You will need to use the composite video RCA input on the LG Tv from the DVD player (the yellow one). The audio out from the DVD then needs to go the rca HT.

Want to connect Proscan LED TV to Philips Home Thater Sys LX 3750. Proscan has ONLY Coaxial Audio OUT, which Philips unit also has.Coax on each end has 2 jacks. Do BOTH need to connected or only one?

You connect a Jack from the TV to the "in" socket of the Philips. The other Jack on the Philips could be for a second source, such as a DVD/Blue Ray Player. It should say on both Jacks if they are in or out sockets. If they are both in sockets you can take your pick.

I need severe help. LG cant even help me. I have an LHT854 home theater system. The only time I can use surround sound, is if I watch a dvd player on it. My Tv's only "Out" is an Optical out....

Is the digital TV-related sound actually originating in the unidentified TV or would it be better to get it at, say, the Cable Box, which IS a hi-fi component, whereas TV's are amost always NOT so?

I'm pretty sure the TV manual may explain the use of its optical output.

I am trying to hook my audiovox dv1202 up to a TV. The video is working, but I cannot figure out how to connect the audio.

The manual helps.

Break it down. DVD Video goes TO the TV but you want the >>>audio<<< for TV programs FROM it, or perhaps from wherever IT originates. Your TV no doubt has audio output(s) that will work. If you have a Cable Box it, too, will have superior audio outputs. Unfortunately, this unit is NOT an AVR or it would be able to accept coaxial Digital Audio Output from a Cable Box or other source. Instead you have to use the AV IN RCA jacks (Item B, page 12) from either the TV or the Cable Box. You're stuck with analog 2-channel audio.

I hooked up the Panasonic sa-ht800V Home Theater Audio System SA-HT800V to an old tv the only hook up is the coaxial cable i turned TV to channel 3 and i get picture from the dvd is the a setting a need to...

Look at Page 12 if your TV only has RF coaxial antenna input...

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-SA-HT800-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/312bh741/t/2/

Add in the Video cable (included) if the TV has an input for it and you'll be able to manage the SA-HT800 through the TV.

Make all the other necessary selections prescribed in the manual.

Need home theater hooked to TV with built in DVD

This is the easiest way 2 explain it. Hook up on the home theater should be labeled in and out. same as on the tv. The TV might no have that feature as the DVD is built in. You might just have an option for sound from the TV/DVD to the home theater. Again OUT from TV IN to receiver. Same with any other device set up.

The easiest way to proceed is by using RCA cables (the red, white, yellow) to connect the cable box.

Hooking up cable through ht-x50

You need an Optical Audio Cable. Hook one end to the HD Cable Box and the other to your Surround Sound System. If you dont have an Optical Cable to your Cable Box, then try using the usual audio cables. But, I have HD and it worked with the Optical Audio Cable.
