This type of issue could be related to different sources. First step I would do is check to see if the lamp is coming on within the scanner, possible bad lamp. One other possibility would be the CCD failure, it may not be moving across to capature your film. Also, when attempting to scan does the scanner sound normal or abnormal. If abnornal sound is occurring then CCD could jammed/stuck hardware failure. Last step would be uninstalling/reinstalling your scanner software, check for updated drivers from the manufacture of your scanner. At this point if none of these suggestions helped then test scanner on a different computer system.

I have scanned several negative images to my computer easily but naively thought they'd be put in a full jpeg image so they would look like a proper photo image not a negative image. What do I need to do...

Once on the computer in negative format, only image manipulation softawares are capable of restoring to display impressions. For example, photo softwares are capable of restorations with anti colation fillin voids to achieve image regularity. However, transforming the negative to regular image makes jpeg formating very convenient thereafter.

Konica minolta dimage scan dual IV

Are you doing index scans or prescans? Sometimes the software gets funky - try doing at index scan if you are doing prescans, and vice versa. Also try CHTL+SHIFT+I which is a recalibration (don't that will do anything but it can't hurt). The best thing might be to just remove Dimage totally (you may have to delete the main folder if you've created any Jobs) and then reload the software. Before you do that, update your virus software, do a system check, and maybe some maintenace like a Defrag - then reboot, remove the software, reboot again and reload software.

Negative Scanning Problem Using Epson Scan Software

Make sure the rectangular slots at either end of the film frame are not obstructed or covered in any way. When I attempted to scan color negatives I had the same darkness problem in the scanned image. When I cleared those rectangular slots, everything was fine. I hope this helps.

What are the instructions to scan using Brother DCP 1000? I laid the docment face down and pressed Scan To and nothing happens but showing another selection in the glass window.

To Scan on Brother DCP 1000 you need to click on the "Paperport" Icon on the desktop. Then Click on "Twain." Lay your document to be scanned face down on the scanner glass. Press the "Scan To" button on the Brother DCP 1000 printer. On the "Twain" window click on "Start." Note: When I clicked on "Start" it initially scanned blanks. I clicked on "PreScan" and saw an image. Then I again clicked on "Scan" and it worked. I named each document I scanned and saved them in a folder for later use.

Scanner in negative

You must have chosen "negative" output in the scanner setup. Go through the scanner options and you should be able to find a way to undo it..
