SOURCE: Epson Stylus C86 spits out blanks

As you have already done head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have good ink cartridges properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves out of its parking position, pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head by hand fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Do not turn the printer on at any stage in this process. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then turn the printer on and try a head clean/nozzle check again. If nothing, repeat the process once more. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Replace the cartridges.
Otherwise, it's unorthodox, but some users have found that this works in your situation. Remove the cartridge, cover the nozzle with a paper towel and use the pointed attachment of a vacuum to clean the dry ink from the cartridge. Be careful not to get ink all over. Then reseat the cartridge and print...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

SOURCE: Epson CX4800 cannot clean the print heads

Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier and please try to print a printer self test.

Bought a used c86 epson off e-bay and it wont

that means that the heads must be replaced or the ink pump is faulty. It is not even worth the repair.
Call the Ebay seller and have your money refunded.

I just bought new ink and nothing prints clearly

If it hasn't printed anything for a couple of years then the print heads will be severely clogged with dried ink. Epson recommends printing a page or two every month to keep the heads clear. You need to try cleaning the print heads, its unlikely that one or two head cleans will clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw
Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink, have some new ones ready.
If you need to know how to do head cleans & nozzle checks, the user guide can be downloaded from Epson here:

Epson C86 sat idle 6 weeks. Now will not print.

I assume that you aren't getting any error messages or flashing lights and that the paper is going through but coming out clean. Blank printing

If you have already done head cleaning and nozzle check 3 consecutive times from the computer and has tried reseating all the ink cartridges and it still acts likes its printing but just prints out a blank page chances are your product already has a hardware issue. If you product is still within the 1-year warranty period from date it was purchased, I suggest that you contact Epson tech support for more options otherwise, you would need to get the product repaired by servicer located in your area.
