Question about Jenn-Air SCE30600 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range
I'm not sure what you mean by the Grill side. All the information I see for the SCE30600 shows a rather normal over with 4 burner stovetop, but nothing I would call a grill. Can you explain in more detail, or is it possible you chose the wrong model?

Well, it sounds like power isn't getting to the grill component. Possibly the controls for it are burnt out, or a fuse is blown.
I'm fairly certain you don't have the SC 30600, as the schematics I've found for it do not include a grill. If you can figure out the exact model you have, I might be able to find more detailed information. But regardless you're going to want to open up the top (control panel area) and test the power to it.
You'll need a voltmeter. Basically, trace the power lines back from the grill components until you find the point where they go bad (ie, the first spot where there's no power to them). It may be something as simple as a fuse, or it may be a burnt out board, or a short in the grill components somewhere.
Oh, that fault code makes it much easier to diagnose. Here's what the fault code means:
Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree
And the suggested repair:
Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)
You can find model number locations (with images) here:
http://www.jennair.com/content.jsp?name=...
Then you can find a local service provider here:
http://www.servicebench.com/servlet/WebS...
They should be able to tell you where you can get parts locally. If you prefer, I can try to find a place online to order parts, once I have the model number.
Good luck.
Well, I have good news and bad news.
The good news is, I found a site that sells parts for your model:
http://www.appliancepartsworldwide.com/S...
The bad news is, the part you need - the clock assembly, is $185.70. Here's a link directly to it:http://www.appliancepartsworldwide.com/S...
I haven't actually worked on this specific problem before.
The documentation I have seen says that the way to repair that error code is to replace the clock. I can't swear that's accurate, but I haven't found any other suggestions on how to repair it. I'd say I'm about 80% sure that will fix it. I'm sorry I can't be 100% sure on this one.

I'm not sure I've cited the correct Model No. The manual I have lists several model numbers one of which is the SC 30600. There are also SV-series listed. In anycase, it is the Model Jenn-Air that has a Grill on the Left and a Two Burner Cartrige on the Right. I also need to mention that along with the other symptoms, it started beeping when the LEDs and Grill Elements went out.
And...before the Grill display went totally dark, it showed what appeard to be "F5". Some sort of fault code?
If you can tell me where to look for the nameplate I'll be able to verify the Model # for you.
To update you on the grill problem; the fault code has changed. The LEDs now display two dashed lines (--). Also, the nameplate indicates this is a SVE87600B Model. Thank you for your continued assistance.
Thank you for the link! Now, I just want to make sure before I go ahead an purchase this part; replacing the Clock Assembly will restore the operation of the grill elements? I'll be able to grill again?
Okay, I finally recieved and installed the "clock" or "control head" for the Left-hand grill. Results were mixed. The display lights up again, and the Left Front Grill gets good and hot. However, when the Left Rear Grill element is put on, it shuts down after about 15 seconds and a fault code "F2" illuminates on the display. When I look this code up on the Electrical Print, the chart indicates the problem as follows: Over temperature: over 600 degrees sensed. Sensed by control in time of day mode, bake mode, or over 900 degrees sensed in clean mode." Under the Components to Check Column, it says, "Ohm Sensor. If checks ok, change power relay board."
First off, I'm not operating the range in the Time of Day, Bake, or Clean modes to my knowledge. I'm just trying to use the grill. Secondly, I've looked over this Print carefully, and I cannot see the "Ohm Sensor". Neither can I locate the Power Relay Board either on the Print or in the range.
Any guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Hello all! I am back again. I must confess, my efforts to solve this problem were overcome by other more pressing events, and I was not able to pursue this until now. To restate the problem with the grill on my Jenn Air SVE87600B Range, When I turn on the rear left element, the fan starts but an alarm sound and a Fault Code F2 appears on the LED display shortly thereafter. I looked up the Fault Code F2 on the trouble shooting chart and it directs me to check the "Ohm Sensor", and refers me to a chart for different temps and their corresponding Ohmic values. It goes on to say that if the Ohms Sensor checks out okay then the Power Relay Board should be replaced. Well, I can't seem to find this Ohm Sensor. Can someone direct me to the location of the Ohm Sensor? Thanks!
