Bypass Timer on Platinum DB2?
Please could anyone advise me how to bypass the timer on my Platinum DB2? My main oven won't work due to a faulty timer. I have already replaced it but it has gone again. Many thanks in advance.

It is not recommended to bypass the timer on your Smeg A2-2 oven, as the timer is an important safety feature. However, if you still want to bypass the timer, here are the steps:
Turn off the power to the oven at the main breaker.
Locate the timer wires. In your case, there are 2 black pairs, 1 red pair, and a single white wire.
Determine which wires are connected to the timer. These wires will be labeled "timer" or "clock."
Cut the timer wires close to the timer unit.
Strip the ends of the wires back about 1/2 inch.
Twist together the wires that were previously connected to the timer.
Cover the twisted wires with a wire nut.
Wrap the wire nut and wires with electrical tape.
Turn the power back on and test the oven.
Again, it is not recommended to bypass the timer on your oven, as this can be dangerous and may void your warranty. It is recommended to consult a professional technician or the manufacturer before attempting any repairs or modifications to your oven.
no timer controls everything turns it off on and controls heat to turn on and off stats are there for temp reading and cycling
guess if you want to burn your house down it can be done but why
buy the timer
Hello, there are always a lot of problems with the timers.
Of course you can replace the timer, but they are often very costly.
But you can bypass it.
Google on "how to bypass the oven timer" and you will find suggestions.

The power to the equipment that will be running goes onto terminals 2 & 3.
Come off terminal 1 to bypass the switch (such as a pressure switch).
Use the time setting from the old timer.
When equipment is turned on, the Icm allows power to go around the (pressure) switch for the set period of time. After the timer times out, power goes back to the pressure switch and by now the the pressure switch controls.
My Smeg oven will not work either. All I get is an "A" on the display, the clock has disappeared and as a result the oven won't come on. I see from other postings here I can bypass the clock so that the oven works again - can anyone advise how I do this?
