On some touch screen device, the tough part of the screen won't work when it has a crack. So it ill be difficult to unlock the screen as long as it has a crack. Ask yourself if it is worth repairing the screen, when you know what a repair shop asks for the repair and what a new device costs.
Success
Crack+touch screen not working usually means broken digitizer, which means replacement screen. Usually cost prohibitive in something like the Memo series.
I've never heard of that model, which might make it difficult to find the parts. Look up your local phone repair shop. Tablets are built like giant phones, so the phones shops can usually do tablet screens also.
Unfortunately, if the display is cracked, you will need to take your daughter's tablet to be serviced by a repair technician. Otherwise, you will not be able to see anything on its screen or make the touch matrix work.
Sorry, but this will require a new screen and a new digitizer. Might be cheaper to just buy a new one and put this on ebay to sell as parts/non working.
