I bought my fuji camera to take pictures of artwork, but at all settings the shots are blurry. I should be able to see the grain of the canvas in some of these shots.

Are you close enough to the subject to use the macro mode? Do you have the camera on a tripod or other stable support?

SOURCE: We have a Fuji S5000 digital camera we really

Hi!
Yes, it's the image sensor (CCD). For Fujifilm it usually comes together with lens and that makes it quite expensive - about 200$ here. I whink you should get a new one.

Sony Cyber-shot takes lots of blurry pictures in

first thing you can do is to try reverting cam back to factory settings.to do that initialize the camera.it's under menu>setup settings>main settings1>initialize. after initializing, set cam to auto adjustment mode (green camera icon in mode dial). what to avoid when taking pictures:
1.subject too close (use macro if needed)
2.insufficient light
3.subject movement
4.camera movement (that's caused by you)
5.incorrect camera setting
5.incorrect camera operation
btw, before you take a picture, press the shutter button halfway down first to give the cam ample time to focus.you'll see a flashing green indicator on the screen that means cam is focusing.when the indicator stops blinking cam is ready for the shot.press shutter button all the way.review your picture.if still blurry, you may try changing iso (for dark or fast moving subject, note:the greater value the noisier the picture gets), metering mode and focus settings by going to the shooting menu (press menu when your in P or program mode). hope this helps.tnx:)

My Fuji 5000 is not performing like it used to on action shots - even when on auto mode. The blurriness is terrible and all my shots have the blurred look unless the subjects stand still.

Have you gone to the manual? It might be the film speed setting is too low which is adjusted through the menu button. If my memory is correct it would be in the setup mode. If you haven't already checked this, the higher the speed the better the action shots.

Manual light & exposure settings

if you are using flash lights on the art work, please follow the following steps
  1. turn off your flash in cam since it bypasses the external flash and makes the picture look different.
  2. turn your light settings to either automatic or "flash light or arc light".but do not set them to incandescent light!!!
  3. turn your macro to on status if you are going to take a close up shots, but please note that close up shots work great in natural sunlight than at flash lights...

Blurry Photos - Fuji E510

try the sports and /or kids option that should work fine for you increasing the speed of the shutter,
also if there is a possibility to change then change the ISO from a lower number to roughly around 200-400 and even the present settings should work

Taking night photos with the A350

I suggest you find a tripod and use "No Flash" as the reason the pictures are blurry is usually the camera moved. I love the no flash option, but since the shutter stays open so much longer, a tripod is almost a necessity.
