5 times LED blinks in Panasonic PT-47WX42 shows problem with convergence out
chips failure as this tv has two big black ICs STK392-110 as convergence output,
replace them to fix tv problem.
Look for a used Panasonic PT-47WX42F One in Local ads, Or place a wanted ad for your model. ~ Or if you want A new one, Get ahold of a TV Shop And OR Panasonic and be ready to spend lots of $$$$ ~ And yes there easy to replace!, Make sure you have a large clean area to work in, And a helper. Page 11 ('auto diagnosis feature') shows a table of LED flashes and what each one means. I'd start by checking D-board (since that is power and deflection) and going from there.
Joe,
It sounds like your may need to replaced your convergence ic's loc# ic7001 and ic7002 stk392-110. That should take care of your alignment problem.
Replace the convergence amps. That unit takes two Sanyo STK392-110 and you could use 150's for greater reliability. Also replace one or more of the 1.2 ohm resistors in the yoke return circuit out front of the amps.
There are usually 2 micro fuses that resemble
1/4 watt resisters around the power supply,
and are usually all green, tan or yellow, and
in most cases will have a + or - voltage marked right near these fuses 20 to 25 volts dc typical.
