Was having the same problem and that moncapitaan's solution worked.

Just removed upper left and right screws and then the one on the bottom from the back. Then I pushed as described and it came right out.

I didn't have the correct kind of screwdriver for the screws but I found one of the tips from a pair of scissors would get them out just fine.
Thanks

Hi, Take the 4 or 5 screws out of the back, then grab the top of the front of the case (the bit that ridges up) then pull that while PUSHING against the CD drive. The front and the casing comes FORWARD. These are the most awkard cases I have seen but once you get the gist of it it's easy. Give it a go then let me know. Dont be affraid to pull hard!!!!

How do I get the glass cover over the oven bulb off to change the bulb? The cover turns a 1/4 inch and will not go any further. Pushing or pulling will not help.

Sometimes those glass covers are real hard to turn. Get one of those rubber "mats" or "grippers" designed to help your remove stubborn jar lids (that you can pick up at Ace or True-Value Hardware Stores) and try that. You may also find it helpful to remove the oven door, if the cover is really stubborn.

Changing hard drive / do i have to reinstall os?

If the old hard drive is still working, then you could make an image of it and restore that image on the new hard drive removing the need to reinstall the Operating System.

There are several free programs available that can make the image:
Easeus Todo Backup
Paragon Backup & Recovery 2012 Free Edition

If the old drive has failed and you do not have a full backup, then you will need to reinstall the operating system and all your programs and data that was on the old drive.

HP Compaq Presario V6101US Notebook PC' push the

There are several reasons why this could be happening. Below are a few diagnostic steps we can start off with to eliminate some possibilities. If there is anything you are not comfortable with doing yourself please consult a local repair technician.
  • Remove the battery from the system and try booting up the computer with only the power cord. The "1" in the diagram below is the battery, "2" is the battery release latch.
  • Try removing one of the memory modules (if there is more than one) from the system by following the below steps.

1. Flip the computer upside down. Remove power cord and battery and ensure the system is completely off.
2.Unscrew the compartment labeled "4" in the diagram below. This is where the battery is held, as well as the WiFi card and motherboard battery. DO NOT do anything to these other components as they are quite fragile.

3. If there is more than one memory module you should remove one. Replace the compartment cover and attempt to boot up with battery and power cord reattached. If nothing has changed try swapping out the memory with the one you just removed.

If still nothing happens, this is not the issue. Comment back and we will move further with your case.

Good Luck,
