Question about Mitsubishi VS-5043 50" Rear Projection Television
The convergence IC's and fuses are not your problem. If the Sony projection set has a bad convergence IC and/or a blown fuse or fuses in the convergence circuit, the set will continue playing but the colors will not line up correctly. If the set will not turn on at all, and has no lights at all on the front of the set, the problem is in your main power supply. If the set tries turning on and then flashes the timer LED on the front of the set, count the number of times the LED flashes, as that is the code for why the set is notworking. I have found that the most common cause of the set not starting is a shorted flyback transformer.

I believe I left out some important info about the set, it does turn on, the L.E.D. flashes 4 times. Sony says that it is No vertical Deflection(sweep) and to check Ic1509 and Q1505 I have been told by several people that it may be a number of problems and Im trying to narrow it down to just a few, with the cost of getting this T.V. to and from the repair shop and the actual repairs I am willing to replace several items that might be the problem
Hey, texasdave again, Here is my situation, I dont know much about this rear projection T.V. I have had several different repair shops tell me of several different problems it could be(all are different!!) so now I am really confused, with the prices I have been getting, upwards to $800.00 could I not just order new complete circuit boards and practically give myself a new T.V. on the inside? With everyone telling me different problems and different costs to fix the problem(here locally) it seems it would be less expensive(most of the high cost is labor) and make more sense just to replace all the boards and cover all the bases. Can anyone out there tell me if this is feesible because Im at the point of I dont know who to believe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
