Restart your computer to turn off the "Sticky Keys" accessibility tool.
Use "sticky keys" if you have limited finger dexterity capability or limited motor skills.
For example, you can press CTRL and then ALT and then DELETE,
rather than having to press all THREE keys at the same time.
If you have Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005 installed on it, you can use the Wacom Pen to enter text instesd of type it.
On Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005, there is an Input panel Icon on the tray bar, usually to the left, close to the Start button. Use the pen to click the Input Panel. When it opens showing you a black line on yellowish backround you can start using the pen as if it were on paper. Depending on the pen input setting it will insert automatically or waits for you to press the insert button. However for the converted text to be inserted you need to have a text editing software open (Word Pad for example.)
If when you open the input panel you see a keyboard you can change that to handwriting (continuous line) or typing separate letters.
The computer can be taught to recognize your handwriting: You will need to practice. You might have to download and install the relevant ink recognition package for your language. Look for it on the Microsoft tablet PC page.
I had this problem after changing the batteries in Logitech Cordless Internet Pro Keyboard - Model Y-RAJ56A, very frustrating. I am using a KVM switch that only has PS2 outputs and one of the computers doesn't have PS2 connectors for both keyboard and mouse. This necessitated another mouse & receiver. Receiver will accept both mouse & keyboard but initial installation didn't include pairing the KB with the receiver, it picked it up from the KVM. When I changed the batteries in the keyboard I instinctively pushed the buttons to pair the receiver to the keyboard. Wrong move! Now the computer is receiving keyboard command from both the former 'mouse only' receiver & the KVM, creating ddoouubbllee letters. After pairing, they refused to be unpaired. Solution was to go to Control Panel, in Device Management and disable Wireless Keyboard. Now it only receives keystrokes from the KVM. Problem was solved.
