I understand you want to know where the food traps and filters are located in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2850. The inside of the dishwasher is self- cleaning with normal use. If needed, clean around the tub gasket area with a damp cloth. The filter is self- cleaning. A glass trap located in the center of the filter is designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones and pits. To remove items in glass trap, grasp handle, lift out, empty and replace. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
I understand you want to know how to remove large food particles that are trapped in your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EWDW6505GB0. First, I would suggest that you scrape away large pieces of food before putting any dish in your dishwasher.
Your dishwasher is equipped with a state of the art wash system. Periodically, the Glass Trap Filter and Large Food Particle Trap may need to be cleaned to maximize wash performance. The Glass Trap Filter is located in the center of the Large Food Particle Trap. The Glass Trap Filter is designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones and pits. To remove items in the Glass Trap Filter, grasp the handle, lift out, empty and replace. Hope this is helpful.
Good Afternoon Tyler, thank you for your question! Often
when a dishwasher does not drain, it is because the drain hose may be clogged
or you have a faulty drain pump. First, I recommend cleaning the glass trap
that is located in the center of the unit designed to collect pieces of broken
straws, bones, glass, etc. The filter can be removed for cleaning by simply
grasping the handle and then lifting it out. However, if you continue to have
water left in the sump and the dishwasher is making a grinding noise, then there
is a possibility that the drain motor may need replacing after a proper
diagnosis from an expert. You can locate a certified technician directly
through the manufacturer website or in your local directory.
Hi - Two things to consider...when was the last time the filter was cleaned? Most dishwashers have a glass trap located in the center of the filter designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones and pits. Simply grasp handle, lift out, empty and place it back.Is the unit making a grinding noise? If so, contact a professional because you may possibly have a defective drain motor.
Try http://www.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Product-Support-Manuals/. They didn't have my exact model number so I looked it up by type and found something with enough model numbers matching that it was actually a good match for the manual as well. What worked for me: "To empty the glass trap: 1. Grasp the glass trap's handle and rotate it 900 clockwise while pressing down on the center of the wash arm. 2. Grab the spray arm in the center and lift the spray arm and glass trap assembly up and out from the dishwasher. 3. Tip the assembly over an appropriate container and tap it to empty the glass trap. OR, separate the glass trap - pull the glass trap handle toward you, then up, then further toward you to slide it away from the rest of the assembly; empty it into an appropriate container; then slide the glass trap back into the assembly. 4. Place the assembly back into position, press down on the arm at the center and rotate the glass trap handle 900 counterclockwise being sure the glass trap ends in the orientation shown in the image above. To avoid damage to your unit make sure the spray arm and glass trap are fully snapped in place."
I see that you are wondering how to clean the filter on your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB1050REC. The inside of your dishwasher is self-cleaning with normal use. If needed, clean around the tub gasket area with a damp cloth.
The filter is self-cleaning. A glass trap located in the center of the filter is designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones, and pits. To remove this glass trap, grasp the handle, lift out, empty it and replace it. Hope this helps.
Pull the plastic screw on each side of the drawer with a nose plier. This will loosen the front cover and allow you to lift the top plate along with the handle. Replace the handle and put back the front plate and the front cover. Finally put the 2 screws back.
The filter needs to go back on first, then the arm has notches so that it'll tight down, you need to rotate the arm till it falls in place, then the white handle is used (Goes around base of arm) to tighten it into place.
Try running citric acid (3 tablespoons) through. You can get it from a drug store. Or, run 1/2 cup vinegar through. Do this in both the dish washer and the disposal. After doing this try running some water into the disposal and then see if the next time you run the dishwasher if it still smells. You could be having a problem with water not staying in the drain trap under your sink that is why if you run water and fill the trap, then you will find out if it was the dry trap that caused the smell from sewer gases backing up into the house trough the garbage disposal.
Hi I checked the manual on line. Here's what it said.
Dishwasher has an odor
Run dishes being held in the dishwasher through a Rinse Only cycle. • Many dishwashers have a “new” smell when first installed. This will dissipate with use. • Dishwasher may not be draining properly. (See “Dishwasher Will Not Drain” section.) • For a strong odor, place baking soda in both sides of the detergent cup. Select Light Wash cycle and allow the water to circulate for about 10 minutes. Interrupt the cycle by unlatching the door and let it stand overnight. Restart the dishwasher by latching the door and allow it to complete the cycle. Another alternative is to use a dishwasher cleaning product such as Jet-Dry Dishwasher Cleaner*.
