It is most likely the tube going out. Find some one to replace the tube if the TV is fairly new other wise it is going to be a trend. One tube now and another.. and so on. Ride it out as long as you can then go for an upgrade
Sony tech support (no charge) said it was definitely not the lamp.
Their suggestion- By unplugging the TV for a minute then turning back on, the blue color was substantially but not toally reduced.
Perhaps there is an electrical charge building up distoring the color by having the TV in the ready mode for too long and by unplugging, the charge dissipates?
No other phone solution recommended other than calling for repairs.
I have the same KDF60XS955 sony and have the same problem. I called sony customer support and was told there was a recall on the optical block for this tv. But the recall ended in Dec. of 2008. I was upset that they did not call or send out a notice to me. They should of had my information because I had a different issue that they sent someone out to fix a few years ago. They said it was an expensive fix, like over 1000 dollars. Instead of fixing it they offered me a deal on a smaller tv, a 52 inch sony. I could buy that one at a discount which is about 1100 dollars. I told them that I thought that was the worst deal I have ever heard of. Why would I spend about 4000 dollars for a tv 4 years ago only to be told that I could buy a smaller one today for 1100 dollars more. I said if I bought that 52 inch tv today, what would happen 4 years from today, am I going to be offered an even smaller one for more money again? I thought I was buying a top of the line tv back then, I only wished it would have lasted longer than this. Not happy!
I would first try a new lamp. If the reflector portion of the lamp has any defects, it could show up this way as the light would not be uniform. The next possibility is a defective light engine. The engine portion if not field repairable and would need to be replaced. Try the lamp first and let us know what happens.
It could be as simple as dust contamination in the LE or lcd chip. You need a clean room to work on this area of the unit and NOTHING you can do there would make that possible, short of spending a few thousand to build one. Before we added a clean room enviroment we simply pulled the LE and sent it in to PTS - who has one and reinstalled...
In your case take it to a qualified shop and you'll save yourself a lot of grief..

i guess its the old magnet problem maybe in fluke u or someone in your house had taken a magnet around your tv try fixing it with a magnet by moving the magnet again around the screen and using the same old technique by moving the magnet slowly on the defected area and then quickly taking it off
