Everything works from computer to printer. Problem is that there is no print on the paper! I have reset my computer to earlier settings going back 1 week. Checked to make certain that the cartridge is in place (was replaced appx 3 weeks ago). Cables are okay.
I've tried everything before for months... unplugging, new cartridges, servicing, etc. I've always avoided jarring an electronic item, but hitting the front fixed it! A couple of open-palmed smacks above the paper drawer, and it printed this very page. Apparently, sometimes the cover over the laser sticks shut after replacing the print cartridge, or removing a paper jam. Sounds crazy, but smack it!

Called tech support. Problem seems to be Laser Shutter. Canon will send out tech support within 24-48 hours and with proof of purchased faxed in. However, it's probably faster and easier for me to return the machine.

The machine "prints" just fine but for there is nothing on the paper. I paid the service repair people to come fix the problem. They simply "hit" the machine and charged me $79. That lasted about 50 copies and the machine quite printing again. So, I hit the %$#@%%^& out of the machine with no luck. Called the repair people again and paid another $79 for nothing. They hit it many times and gave up. Told me to go buy a quality Brother or HP. My Canon has printed about 5000 copies since purchasing. It was very expansive and I am really upset that it is already to be junked. Any advice???? I will need to replace on Monday if no resolution can be found as I must have a working printer. Very frustrating to pay this much for a machine and get a piece of junk.
