Ice maker not working

I have a similar ge profile... the psc23... I noticed a puddle yesterday coming from under the fridge. Pulled it out and noticed a spray of water coming from the Tube & Grommet at top right back (rear facing)... This is where the water is pumped from the water solenoid (bottom left rear facing. Further, noticed the water inlet tube was solid-ice, blocking the inlet water. Thawed using hair dryer, and pulled out a 2" core of ice. Re-testing, and it's making ice.... However, I ordered a new Tub & Grommet for $8.00, seems it must have a crack in it.. if it sprayed water while plugged and under pressure. Also suspecting the water solenoid is "leaking" water gradually into the ice compartment thereby causing an ice-buildup in the inlet tube where it hits the freezer compartment.

My GE Profile Artica Side by Side makes ice but the opening from the ice maker to the chute frosts over and builds up with ice preventing cubes to dispense. is this a defrost problem? My GE profile Arctica has the same problem, no ice coming out of the ice maker, tried everything and still does not work. I think that GE should make a recall on the icemaker part of the fridge. My icemaker has ice in it, but wont dispense any. Haven't had working icemaker now for over a year, and can't find a solution. Our GE Profile, Arctica Stainless Steel Side by Side fridge is five and half years old, it's been working great up until last week when it stopped dispensing ice. Warrantee expired a year ago! Any suggestions before we have pay someone an arm and a leg to fix it? We did try what was suggested on this site but it did not work. On our GE Profile 23 side by side where the water works but icemaker does not work....We replaced the water filter, as per the lady on the GE helpline. We checked to make sure the gizmo wasn't all frozen up; we shook out ice cube that we felt might be blocking; we added 1/4 cup water to the metalic bottomed ice maker; we tried the on off switch; we tried the lock switch. Our GE profile ice maker stopped working after about 1 year. This unit was a replacement for a GE artica. They shipped us a Stainless Profile. We have had many probs with both. This one , it seems all the probs stem around the ice maker. GE has been NO help. They wanted to charge us for a service call and parts because they said they replaced the other frig. that had sooooo many problems. I should note that the one they replaced started having problems just shy of having it a year. I would not buy another GE ever mainly because the customer service stinks! I'm going to get the replacement ice maker and replace it myself. I'll let you know how it turns out.
