Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Dsc-w90 I just bought this camera a few weeks ago. Within the first 200 pictures that I took it started giving me this error when I turn it on that says "Turn off camera and turn back on to use." Sometimes I have to do it 4 or 5 times before it will work again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is the camera just defective?

You will need to pack this camera as if you were packing a pack of ciggs or a deck of cards. this will cause it to resync with the lens.

There maybe a problem of the zoom lens assy, at power on it will initialize and check if all systems go, if its warranty, have it check at nearest service center.

I am having E:91:01 that pop up on my lcd everytime im taking pictures.

Hi,
E:91:01 is an error code that indicates problem with flash circuit that is defective.
Replace flash circuit in camera to fix this problem.
Let me know if you need part number info of flash circuit for DSC-W90 or take camera to local camera repair shop to replace flash circuit board.
Thanks.

DSC-W90 Sony Digital Camera - Lens Error

Sorry man, I think you're out of luck. Most likely nothing you can service, maybe a professional can fix it though. Still under warranty? Good luck.

Keeps asking me to turn off and back on...

Since your camera is still under warranty, best thing will be calling Sony's appropriate service center for their assistance. Good luck!

File error

I was having the same problem with my 4GB memory stick pro duo, when i took more than 50 pictures with my camera (dsc-w90) i would get the blue screen with the file error message. I'm guessing you bought the memory stick on ebay right? I bought mines there and it turns out it's a fake one. If you also bought it there then you most likely have a fake memory stick because I found out that most of the memory sticks sold on ebay are fake, to help you figure out if you have a fake one or not check out this guide or google fake memory stick pro duo. http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-Sony-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-MagicGate-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001236041

Viewing is fine, taking pictures is not

This sounds like what started happening with my camera a few weeks ago. I found that turning the LCD screen off during picture-taking allows me to take pictures. I then have to go into review mode to look at the pictures I took using the LCD screen. Definitely not a great fix. I'm trying to locate a firmware upgrade that may solve it.
