SOURCE: Tile Saws types problem

Mass produced ceramic tiles of medium to soft grades are cut easily with hand tools. The glazed surface of the tile is first scored with a tool that carries a hardened metal wheel. Then with a support directly under the score pressure is applied to either side of the cut and the tile snaps along the score. The harder grades of ceramic tiles like fully vitrified porcelain tiles, stone tiles, and some clay tiles with textured surfaces have to be cut with a diamond blade.

SOURCE: Tile saw helping tools

On most of the tile project you will need: tile nippers, 1/4", 1/8" and 3/16" spacers, grout sponge, mixing tub, mixer and various trowels.

SOURCE: Tile Saw Troubleshooting

if your blade is newer or even well used, one way to make it cut better is find a used brick or a piece of a concrete block and cut through them, what really works best is a carborundum stone that setters use to hone cut edges of tile, you can get 1 at any tile store or home depot for 5 bucks. another trick is to lightly pull up on the table towards end of cut, if they keep breaking at end of cut, and you have the gauge set simply flip tile up side down and start your cut then back it off flip it over and cut through. all saw cuts leave minor chips on cut edge, we always stone cuts. cutting a brick cleans debris off blade. MAKE SURE WATER IS PRESENT WHEN CUTTING

You don't really need a wiring diagram. get the switch, swap it out wire for wire... pretty easy.. getting it apart will be the hardest part.

SOURCE: Tile saw wont start. It's brand new. Is there some sort of safety device.

The first thing you should check is the GFCI switch on the power cord. All tile saws have one because of the water involved with cutting tile. It should have a test and reset button on it, press the reset button to get power to the saw motor. Some bigger saws also have a reset button on the motor itself for overload issues. Check for that if the GFCI reset doesn't work.

The Target wet saw TA10100 is shutting down immediately after starting up. Anyone know the part that is causing this. We have replaced the off/on switch and repaired a wire to the switch with new conn

check where your power cord goes inside the saw to the motor. All that wrapping the cord around to pack it up sometimes works it loose. Other wise id take it to a elec motor shop for a new motor, Last one i got i think it was $40 installed. Targets arent' cheap so its worth just putting a new elec motor in it.

The saw wants to start running but the saw braker pops before full speed run. I am running on a 30 amp outlet and checked all cords. Thank you

If you have access to an ammeter, check the draw when the saw starts. I don't know what the rating of the saw is but I doubt it's more than 30A. If the startup draw is more than 30A the saw may have a short in the starting circuit. If it's less than 30A the breaker may be bad; change the breaker and retry.

Target wetsaw starts and runs fine. Half way through the tile the blade binds and the motor bogs down which trips the breaker. It does it every cut now. Never had an issue before. Tightened the belt, still...

First thing I would check is that the table is square to the blade. If the back edge of the table that pushes the tile through the blade isn't perpendicular to the blade the cut will start fine but as you go through the tile the table will be pushing the tile into the side of the blade and cause a huge amount of friction, making the motor work harder and eventually pop the circuit breaker.

We are currently experiencing a problem with the target TA10100 wet saw. It will start up and immediately shutdown. The local authorized tool repair said that the part encased on the top of the Baldor motor is called a capacitor. we have yet to find out if this is the cause of the problem. Hope the information helps you because so far it hasn't helped us.

fyi, target tile saws and felker tile saws are made by the same company, and you can find both of them on line. your best bet is to take your saw to a tile distributor that sells saws and they will get what you need , good luck

I need to buy a tile saw I was searching on the internet & after spending 3 hours I came across this impressive website http://www.ciciliotandson.com/. I just want to ask you that are they reliable ?

Hi, I just went to that site you posted, I don't know what saw you were looking to buy, the saws looked like good quality, BUT they all looked very overpriced. Ive been doing tile since 1984 and have owned, mk,target, felker, pearl, tile saws. everyone of these saws have a 10 inch blade and are very very good for a thousand dollars you can get these saws with saw stand, blade all the gauges ready to cut.the pearl saw \pearl abrasive co.\vx 10.2xl has a 1 1\2 hp motorweights 83 pounds and cut a 2 foot by 2 foot tile or a 18x18 diagonally, great saw,the mk, target and felker have saws that will cut the same size of tile but are bulky in size.if i was you go ask tile setters at a tile store, before you buy a saw.good luck Chad
