The scanner does not work for my HP PSC 1610. When I press the scan button the screen instructs me to install or run device software for feature. What does this mean?

you do not have proper driver for your all in one printer here install the full driver for your printer from CD and if you do not have driver CD with you download from here.

select your operating system there and choose full driver to download

I want to add my PSC 1610 as a network printer (it's attached to a print server device). When adding the network printer windows asks for the *.inf file... I can't find this file on the installation disk...

i have the same printer- unplug the printer usb cable- un-install the printer- plug the usb back in. when the new device wizard comes up, tell you have cd. insert install cd- browse for your cd device letter- choose that. then re-install printer- full install! will prob. ask you to 'name' your printer!- write down that name! you'll need that, as well as your psc 1610 i.d. then , if your computer is the net-work comp., you need to set it up on control panel to share. then check other computers on network and see if they 'see' the hp psc 1610 and then add them to printer sharing- this is where you'll need the 'name'. i had less problem with w98se, than i did with xp pro or home! love you, microshaft!!
