Hello
This Monitor starts up ok and at the beginning you can see for a flash second the benq symbol showing then nothing.
what could be the problem?
Could it be perhaps the cable (have a 15 pin monitor cable)?
It didnt come with the original cable.
Or doe i need a special Driver for the monitor or is it plug&play?
regards
kasta

If it is still under warranty from Benq (3yrs), call them for a return. I have one (FP731) and did the same thing. There is an IC within the monitor that is bad. Pretty soon there will be nothing on the screen.

I have had problems occasionally with connecting a second monitor, too. Hook up both monitors. In the Windows control panel, look up display (or right click on your desktop and select display). Is the second monitor shown? If not, click "detect" and see if it shows up. I have had a couple times where I clicked on the monitor icon in "display" and then clicked "enable this monitor" and it started working. If not, then try switching the cords so your working monitor is the second one. try again and see if it show up. If not, the problem is probably with the video card or video card driver. Try and update the driver for your card.https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-8800-gt
If this does not work, the issue is probably the card.
Try connecting the monitor to a different computer, e.g., a laptop.
The power-cord to the monitor seems to be OK.
Check the "data" cable between the monitor and the computer -- try a different cable.
With the monitor turned on, restart your computer, and watch the monitor. The computer should show some start-up messages (white text over black background), followed by the Windows "splash" screen. If it does, the monitor is working correctly.
Hello, sergio, hi, check first your PC, this might be a power supply problem or a memory failure, use another monitor on your PC and see if the symptoms occurs.
check your resolution settings and change to 800><600 and try again. If it does not work at 1024><768 try loading monitor driver In display properties it should show BenQ FP731 instead of plug and play monitor.

I've repaired my FP767 just today. It had similar problem.
First of all I thought that I needed to replace CCFL tubes.
Then I noticed inflated capacitors in power supply.
I replaced them all and monitor works as new.
Strange that both should show the same symptoms
don't you think?
Have you changed anything computer wise?
Graphics card or resolution?
Screeching noise is a puzzle too.
How are they powered - internally or via a separate power supply?
