Re: Can't see through screen! Everything is orange!
This is a Screen/connection problem

this sounds like a main board failure but a defective power supply can mimic some symptoms of a bad main board. I would recommend you get a diagnosis done on the set. If I was a betting man, I'd guess the main board
fiona_sheeha, If ACER warranty service not an option, then unit will need local tech to troubleshoot unit's power supply/inverter circuit for possible COMMON and repairable printed circuit board fix. You must read more of my fixya profile and visit the web links you find there so you will know and understand what ALL your options are!!! Some units require less than $5 in parts to refurbish them to working status. Your "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" backlit LCD monitor isn't any different than any other brand of monitor in it's basic operating principles!! I hope this helps. 12fixlouie
It sounds like you are missing the luminance drive to the CRT board or the voltage that is provided to amplify the signal. The reason you get a good on screen display is that it is it is fed from aseperate circuit and you get some images because the chrominance signal is still being supplied. The video signal is made up of these two component- luminance and chroma. You usually need an oscilliscope to troubleshoot.
Sounds like you will need to format the memory card as the card has become corrupted. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the picture error message and the card can be used again.
Thanks for everyone's help. The bcar screen actually is the backup camera screen which is activated by the orange wire and when I turned on the lights, it got activated. I disconnected the orange wire and everything is fine. When I get a backup camera I'll connect that wire to the backup lights so that it will come on whenever I put the car in reverse. You are right that their manual is not very clear at all. I called their tech support and they couldn't help me trouble shoot the problem either. The unit is functioning perfect now but my next beef is that you can't change the XO vison default screen when a cd is playing. It would have been nice if you can scroll some jpeg shots of anything else besides looking at the xovision logo. I guess I can't have it all for $340 so, I'll stop whinning.
Your problem most likely is on the signal board is my guess. If your not a technician it would be in your best interest to have him check L2C60 on the signal board.
I need more information about what symptoms you are experiencing.
I am going to guess that your shutter is stuck closed. This would cause a blank image to show on the view screen and your captured pictures. The regular icons and text would still display normally. Is this what you are seeing? If not please explain further what is happening and I will respond again with more information.
