My Zanussi WJD 1257 W sometimes has heat in the dry cycle and sometimes does not. I have used the dryer directly after a wash and have had heat and on some occasions no heat at all. The issue also occurs when I use the dryer just on its own. I would say the dryer works only 50% of the time. Why would it work sometimes and not others?

Very hot says heater is okay perhaps the fan is not operating due to cut out.... this fan blows air which is then heated and dries the clothes,if its a condenser drier then check also the water valve is opening and pump operating...
Good Day, Your
washing machine is fully automatic?
the
washing cycle is normal?
if yes
do the same maybe it will help you.
for
the fully automatic washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the
filter of your drain pump, how? remove the cup of your drain pump like a
ordinary cup, screw it clock wise or counter clock wise.
Remove
drain pump filter and clean it, some hair pins, cotton buds or coins or any
small item that coz of clog up.
if
your washing machine dont have drain pump ,but fully automatic check the drain
motor if running or not? how? open the back cover for top loader washing
machine only, select spin cycle and press start to see the drain motor running?
the drain motor is like a small box with small wire to pull the lever of the
drain to remove water inside, if the motor running or pull the lever of the
water pipe but water still inside the washing machine, remove the drain cup or
cover and clean it or check if have coin or cloth inside that coz of clog or
water stuck,
if the
drain pump or drain motor is weak this is will cause and long time draining or
totally not running the drain pump or drain motor and its cause of totally stop
the cycle of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because all fully
automatic washing machine, after washing cycle the drain pump or drain motor
must be on, to remove water before start the next cycle. rinse or spin cycle.
most likely it is a wire that has pulled loose while it was going into its spin fucntion or its agitate seeing how it did work at first and then failed after an amount of time technicians these days are always in a rush to get to the next job. He should stay and watch the machine complete all the cycles after he is done repairing.if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick
p.s make sure there is no charge by his company for him returning to complete the job you have already paid for
Try to see the capacitor of your the machine. The capacitor looks like a circle tube of plastic ware where the 4 wires are connected to it. it is only for the washing machine with the dryer. If it's only a washing machine the, the capacitor is only a single or only two wires are only connected. To test if that is the common problem, try to connect another functioning capacitor.
not familar with the code but usually wash has a built in thermo stop to wait for water to heat to correct temp,if it works normally in a rince cycle and spins out and finishes properly i would look at heat element or stat, hope this helps
tilt machine backwards at a good angle.look underneath and you will see that the drain hose is connected direct to the pump and held with a spring clip. just undo with pliers and bobs your uncle
