Hiya,
my brother has recently given me his old Jabra BT150 headset. It will not charge. I think it is a couple of years old. Is it worth sending back? Should I take it apart and have a look or just buy a new headset?
when i try charging my headset it blinks blue once and thats it. I read it's supposed to stay solid blue while charging and it will be blank if it's fully charged. I tried turning it on but no light comes on after holding it for 5 seconds like the manual says. any help?when i try charging my headset it blinks blue once and thats it. First Fully charge the BT150. Turn BT150 on by pressing the "answer/end button". To put the BT150 into pairing mode press the answer/end and volume+ at the same time to activate pairing mode. Next Set your mobile phone to detect a Bluetooth device. Press yes or ok to pair phone with Jabra BT150. Put in pass key 0000 (four zeros) Then press yes or ok. Your phone will confirm when pairing is complete. Enjoy your earbud/headset.
Use the AC adapter to charge from a power socket. The charging socket is located at the top of the headset (the wider end). When the LED is solid blue, your headset is charging. When the solid blue LED turns off, it is fully charged.
The first dude is an idiot! The battery is toast go buy a headset that isn't as old as this Jabra! I also have the issue & no didn't plug it in wrong...it only goes one way! Mine sat for a few years unused & now will not charge...You can get newer headsets pretty cheap! Look around!

From the sounds of this.. It's all due to bad keying of the polarized charging plug. The solid red light PROBABLY means you're battery is pretty darn dead. It'll need a new battery(not worth the cost imho. get a new jabra, and be happy once again) At a certain low voltage, the red light starts blinking. when it drops below the preset threshold, it will shut off completely. If it sits too long at this discharged rate, the battry WILL self-terminate. If the voltage drops below a certain level, it's ruined. Also note, most Li-ion cells will only last a few years. 2-3 years of "full power" is usual. Mine's 2 years old(steady usage), and showing signs of it's age.
"My red light won't go off even though I charged it all night. Also, a small piece of plastic came off the charge opening. I don't know if this is will pose a problem to the use of the Jabra BT150."
This is probably the most telling bit of information. It means you DID plug the charger in upside down. It will NEVER charge in that configuration, as it is supplying power to the completely wrong pins. If the battery was good to start with, it shouldn't hurt the headset, but never know. I have accidentily plugged it in backwards for a couple min before noticing, with no ill efect, but YMMV.
"Doesn't anyone from the Jabra manufacturer check this site?"

Make sure the charger is in right. If you put it on wrong you will get a faint blue light, when it is in right you will get a BRIGHT BLUE LIGHT. It WILL NOT charge if it is in wrong.
Thanks for your advise.
Really appricate your response.
