I believe a E197 error refers to a power problem relating to the fuser. I would remove any covers to access the fuser, remove it and reseat it and any nearby connectors.

5. Yes, re-set printer (hit minus key - back arrow).

Mf8180c : system error E000

Error E000 is a failure of the fuser unit (not warming up). You will need a new fuser. It is not a user fittable part and some of the gears and brackets in the rear of the machine need to come off. if you are not a diy'er or have no expierience in working on these machines then its better left to a trained engineer. ON A CANON MF8180C HOW TO ENTER INTO THE SERVICE MODE ?

Most features in service mode are designed for trained technicians. Many options are not labeled and ambiguous and assume you have been trained by Canon for the machine.

The process to enter service mode is available by searching google. I am unable to post it here due to a non-disclosure agreement.

Guides for this are almost impossible to find online, in my experience.
