Question about HP Compaq nc8430 Notebook

1 Answer

Unidentified devices I have recently reinstalled Win XP SP2 onto a HP COmpaq nc8430 notebook. Two devices appear as unidentified (in the other devices list)and in addition, windows picks up, but cannot initializa the driver for the scsi raid controller as well as the pnp bios extension. All this despite my downloading and installing all the latest drivers for this notebook from the hp website.

Although SP2 is improved, the device drivers can still be used from the original CD to initialize drivers. Insert this CD when prompted to update drivers.

Hi there,

Go into the BIOS setup (press f10 during boot process), then SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and disable SATA NATIVE SUPPORT. Try installing XP again and it should see your hard drive.

(If it will work then please vote for me).

Thanks

I have notebook Compaq 6715b with Windows XP (no SP2). Sound doesnt work. drivers from HP official site not working

Hello,

trust me, the fault is from the win xp SP2. I am saying this with confidence and out of experience. Except if the audio drivers you downloaded is for win vista.

While running the Win xp, some files make have skipped/not installed which is making the sound not to work. Or maybe you have initially installed a wrong audio driver.

To solve this problem. you have to re-run the win xp, if possible, use another xp Cd, maybe not Sp2.

After installation, let the audio driver be the fist thing you install.

Take care.

Unable to pair samsung t729 blast with bluetooth on hp nc8430

Read the manual that came with your device. It should tell you in the manual what the default pin is. You can try 0000, or 9999, or 1111 just for the heck of it...it's usually something like that. (not sure on the number of digits for your device, but I think it would be 4)

Driver installation

Deinstall SP3. Nothing works with it.
If you can't deinstall it, you'll have to reinstall Windows, I'm sorry.

I hope this helps,
Yannick.

Windows os

Its true. the Bios or HDD driver wont allow you to install Win XP on it.. This BIOS is compatible with only Win Vista. The only easy way to do it is by creating 2 partitions while installing vista. once vista is installed- install XP with Dual boot and than format the vista partition.

Audio driver for Compaq Presario C783TU Win XP SP2

You must do this in order to get the sound working on the 700 models:

This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports
the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) bus driver for high definition audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.
Here is the link for the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture driver that need to be installed before installing the audio driver:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/sof...4000/sp33867.exe ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe
After installing the UAA driver from the above links you have
to restart the notebook and then install Conexant high definition
audio driver from the following link :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/sof...4500/sp34200.exe ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34200.exe
Installing the audio drivers may result in an error, but continue
with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "audio device on high definition audio bus" and click update driver.
3. Select "install from a list or specific location"
4. Click next. Then select "don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click next and then select "sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click next and then click have disk.
7. Click browse C:swsetupsp34200 folder and select the .inf file and click open and continue with the on screen instructions.
