Bought from Argos but now know it is a direct import from China and no connection with Acoustic Solutions UK.
On attempting to Format the MP3, made the mistake of using format FAT32, when it should have been FAT. My windows XP computer now freezes when I insert the MP3 in a USB Port. When I try opening up My Computer first, then inserting the MP3 Player in a UB slot, the MP3 icon does not appear on screen. On the one occasion that it did the MP3 Icon had a large red fault plastered across it.
Any suggestions ?

For people who have experienced this issue in the past there are five capacitors which dry out after a number of 4 years. they are 4700uF 6.3V x 2, 2200uF 6.3V and 1000uf 16v x 3. on the power supply board of the TV. They are obvious to spot as there is a defined bulge on the top where electrolyte gasses have expanded the lids. This is normally due to low cost crappy capacitors. Capacitor life in general is about 8000 Hrs continually used, so if its running for 5 hrs per day, you can expect a minimum of 4 to 5 year out of the televisions before experiencing power supply issues. Additionally there are two diodes in the power supply with small heat-sinks attached. These devices get somewhat warm and the joints around their legs if no soldered correctly at the time of manufacture become weak and crack.
I contacted sony support centre to ask for code for sony RM-VL600T remote control, this is their reply below
I'm sorry, but there are no codes for the ASTVD LCD TV DVD COMBO. However, in some rare cases, you may not be able to operate your non-Sony equipment with the supplied Remote Commander. This is because your equipment may use a code that is not provided with this Remote Commander. In this case, please use the equipment's own remote control unit.
Thank you for understanding.

i have since learned the problem is that acoustic soultions tv are made for argos stores and are branded with their own name, therefore the modle is not registered as a tv brand to be used with universal remotes.
There is no way to solve the problem without the remote. Thanks to the good people at ASDA customer service who can direct people where to order a replacement remote for £11. Alternatively the Acoustic Solutions (Argos own brand) remote also works with this telly.
The television has audio out with two pins red and white. This can be connected to the input of subwoofer. and dvd player should have analogue 5.1 out put i.e six pins this can be connected to the subwoofer, but only either of can be used at a time.
